AFERM’s newest sponsor

MIL is pleased to announce that we are now a corporate sponsor for the
Association for Federal Enterprise Risk Management (AFERM). AFERM is
the only professional association dedicated to the advancement of the practice
of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in the federal government through
thought leadership, education, and collaboration. AFERM is a leader in ERM, a
concept that has been maturing in the private sector for the past two decades.
So, what is ERM and how does it apply to MIL? Essentially, ERM is a
strategically aligned enterprise-wide portfolio view of the organization’s full
range of risks, challenges, and opportunities. MIL helps clients make decisions
every day supporting strategy, budgeting, performance management, and
        operations.
MIL staff members have already been actively engaged with AFERM prior to our corporate sponsorship. MIL VP Paul Marshall
hosts a weekly podcast for AFERM, called “Risk Chats,” where he speaks with government Chief Risk Officers and risk management
professionals to provide insights into how to run effective ERM programs and to share best practices with the community. The podcast
is available for free on AFERM’s website: www.aferm.org/aferm-risk-chats.
AFERM serves its members by providing a forum for discussion of issues relevant risk management professionals. The organization
also sponsors educational programs and encourages professional development for its members. AFERM impacts the governmental risk
profession by influencing governmental risk management policies and practices, as well as by serving as an advocate for the practice.
