Annual Awards Ceremony & Crabfeast

On a beautiful September day, MIL’s DC-MD-VA area employees
gathered at Mayo Beach Park to round out the summer for the
Annual Crab Feast and Awards Celebration. With the best of
weather, delicious food, and great music, the event had over 400
        attendees.
Each year, MIL host’s this event to recognize the achievements
of our employees while celebrating with family and friends.
Together, we gather to enjoy crabs, BBQ, face painters, henna
tattoo artists, a caricature artist, a moon bounce, paddle boats,
rock climbing wall, and more. This year proved to be another
beautiful day where all could enjoy the waterfront scenery.
Ed Greer, DoD Business Unit COO, honored our local Employee
of the Month recipients with a plaque award and we were able to
learn a little bit more about these exceptional individuals and how
        they make MIL shine.
One of the most exciting features of the day is the Annual
Kickball Tournament, which has become a Crab Feast tradition.
After lunch, sector teams compete for the coveted MIL Kickball
Cup. This year, the Corporate Service Center, REPS, and Cyber
sectors all duked it out. After a glorious battle, Tom Clark and
the REPS team took home the trophy, dethroning the Corporate
Service Center after four years of back-to-back victories.
Thank you for your continued hard work and dedication. We look
forward to seeing you all at our Annual Awards Celebration this
        Winter!

        Cruising for a good time

Members of MIL’s Library of Congress (LOC) Congressional
Research Service help desk team—along with MIL staff from
other service desk contracts—recently joined other members of
the Help Desk Institute (HDI) on an Annual Team Building Event
aboard the Spirit of Washington. MIL staffers boarded the ship on
Friday, June 15th for the ‘monument cruise’ along the Potomac
River. Attendees enjoyed fair skies, breathtaking city views, and
the opportunity to meet other service desk professionals in the
        Washington Capitol Area.
The HDI Cruise featured a buffet lunch and a local DJ and
dancing, all with the DC cityscape as backdrop.
