By: John Pilot
The Naval Air Systems Command – Special Communications
Mission Solutions (NAVAIR-SCMS) and MIL REPS attended
the Next National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) West
(N2W) kick-off partnering workshop 24-25 April in St. Louis, MO.
Approximately 100 people attended the off-site event from the
NGA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, along with the prime
contractor and subcontractors.
McCarthy HITT – Next NGA West JV was awarded the
$711,651,970 design-build contract for the construction of the Next
NGA West (N2W) campus that will be built in St. Louis, Missouri
with a tentative completion date of April 2023.
Next NGA West is the largest federal investment project in the
history of St. Louis. It is a mega-project jointly managed by the
NGA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Air Force.
The NAVAIR-SCMS MIL team is responsible for the development of the N2W information technology (IT) requirements and design
recommendations. A successful N2W IT System Requirements Review was held in December 2018 at NGA and included the delivery
of a baselined IT System Requirements Document. Currently in the design phase of the project, the NAVAIR-SCMS MIL team is
evaluating IT infrastructure technologies and will provide IT design solutions for network transport, data center, user facing, and
cybersecurity.
The 97-acre campus includes the 712,000-square-foot office building, parking structures, visitor control center, and other features. The
site is located in the historic St. Louis Place neighborhood at the intersection of Jefferson and Cass avenues.
