        Managing change, driving growth

        By: Julianna Kreko
MIL has been a fixture at the U.S. Department of Commerce,
International Trade Administration (ITA) for close to 20 years.
Over the years, MIL staff and their government clients have seen
numerous changes, both at an agency-wide level, and within their
organization, which up until December 2018 was known as the
Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). At that point,
        OCIO’s leadership implemented a complete re-branding effort,
resulting in a new organizational structure, logo, culture, and
name – Technology, Services and Innovation (TSI). MIL is excited
for this innovative way of thinking and has recognized this as an
incredible opportunity to implement change management and
end user adoption best practices across the agency.
Thanks in part to MIL’s generous training benefits, multiple
employees at ITA have participated in Prosci’s Change
Management Certification Program. This past March, Peg Chritz
and Julianna Kreko (pictured) completed the three-day course
in Warrenton, VA. Their goal for the course was to formulize
and implement an adoption strategy and training process for
the various technologies being utilized at TSI, thus increasing
efficiency and value for the client and ITA end users. As a user
adoption specialist, Peg recognized a unique opportunity to apply
best practices to some of TSI’s recent projects, including the
SharePoint-based 232 Exclusions Portal. Since returning from the
course, Peg has briefed TSI and MIL senior leadership on a new
engagement and adoption strategy, one that will help our clients
succeed and excel in the face of (exciting) changes.
