Tyler Russell appointed national HDI Membership Committee Chair

Tyler Russell, a MIL program manager under the ITS sector at the Library of Congress, has been
appointed chairman of the HDI Local Chapters national membership committee. Since joining
the HDI Capital Area board of directors, Tyler has been seen as an enthusiastic chapter leader
who brings innovative ideas and methods for expanding HDI membership. His efforts were
noticed by national leaders, who selected him as chairman for the membership committee for
HDI Local Chapters, the parent organization of HDI Capital Area. After taking the reins of the
committee in January, Tyler is already championing two major initiatives, student memberships
and a mentoring program, that the committee believes will help expand HDI membership
across the nation. Within three months of him being at the helm, the committee submitted a
successful proposal for student membership that received unanimous board approval. Student
membership is an affordable membership option that is available to all students and interns and
allows them access to all the benefits of a standard HDI membership, including conference and training discounts, discounts to
paid local events, access to nationwide virtual events, a free job board, and access to HDI's powerful network of IT service and
support professionals. Tyler's committee now turns their focus toward the development of mentoring events for data gathering
to determine the value of adding a mentoring program to HDI's benefit portfolio.

Job fair at NAVAIR

MIL was thrilled to participate in recent job fairs held at the
Patuxent River Naval Air Museum in Lexington Park, MD on
November 8th , January 16th, and April 23rd. MIL and other
local area employers were privileged to set up tables and talk
to prospective candidates surrounded by examples of the US
Navy’s awesome aviation and technology history. Thanks
to everyone that turned up to meet, greet, and interview
applicants, both from our HR staff and MIL’s hiring managers
and representatives!
