researcher, a circumstance that is not unusual in the genealogical world in such

The Case of Falsified Records:
There is another problem found when doing genealogical research. Every once
in a while a researcher will run across records of alleged facts which are totally
fictitious. It happened to me.
Being naive about genealogical
research and not being satisfied
with the quality of records I was
finding, I thought I could
discover something other
researchers had not found about
the FOYs if I could do some
research in Yorkshire, England,
the place where some FOY
researchers claimed FRANCIS met and married SERINA MILES. Oh, I did not
go there myself. Instead, I searched to find some expert there who could uncover
the story of the FOYs in Europe for me.
In a major genealogical magazine, Everton’s Genealogical Helper, I found an ad.

I checked up on MR BARRON and found he was a respected member of The
Association of Genealogist and Record Agents in England and was experienced
and had good references.
I contacted MR BARRON and told him everything I knew about the theory of
the FOYs fleeing France to England and then to America. We reached an
agreement and he began his search.
