ROBERT HENRY FOY and BENJAMIN FRANKLIN FOY did migrate to
Louisiana. Their times in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas will be discussed in
the chapter regarding BENJAMIN FRANKLIN FOY.
Further investigation needs to be done in Louisiana regarding LEWIS residing
there as DAVID has a LEWIS FOY appearing in the Jackson Parrish, Louisiana
census.
ELOUISE does have some Family information indicating LEWIS did, at least,
visit the Louisiana- Texas areas. She has correspondance from some of her
relatives who in the 1800s spoke of a male FOY relative, who was a cripple,
visiting kinfolks in Texas. That could have been LEWIS.
In summary: LEWIS FOY and BATHSHEBA LIPSEY were the parents of
several children, one of whom was BENJAMIN FRANKLIN FOY. BENJAMIN,
later in life, settled in Limestone County, Texas. He was the father of JOHN
ELON FOY, the patriarch of the Cisco Clan.
LEWIS and BATHSHEBA had other children whose families moved into the
Florida area. They also had descendants, other than BENJAMIN FRANKLIN
FOY and ROBERT HENRY FOY, who moved to Texas and whose descendants
still live in Texas. We will be talking about and identifying those descendants
later on.
{NOTE: BATHSHEBA LIPSEY seemed an unusual name to me. However, in the
study of the FOYs one will discover another BATHSHEBA LIPSEY. This other
BATHSHEBA LIPSEY was married to FREDERICK FOY, born in 1740,
Baltimore County, Maryland. Allegedly FREDERICK was a son of THOMAS
FOY. He would, therefore, be a brother to JAMES FOY, SR, the father of LEWIS,
which would have made FREDERICK LEWIS FOY’s uncle. There has been
speculation that the BATHSHEBA LEWIS married was actually his uncle’s wife
and that was the reason his family disowned him. However, allegedly somewhere
near New Bern, North Carolina is a tombstone where both FREDERICK FOY and
his wife, BATHSHEBA are buried and both their names name on it. That is
another research matter to be explored at some later date.}
