Breaking the Curse of Poverty  David K. Owusu


                   •   First, Jesus looked at what everybody gave and estimated its
                     true value
                   •   Second, God gauges what we give by what we keep.
                   •   Jesus stated that the one who put in the least in actual value
                     gave the most because she had nothing left.


               This teaches us that when God measures what we give, He looks at
               what we have retained for ourselves.



               In the final analysis, one day all of us will have to answer for ourselves
               before God.


               The Bible says in Romans 14:12 [nKJV]


                      So then, each of us will give account of himself to God.

               The phrase in the original Greek, “to give account,” is used primarily
               in reference to financial matters.

               That means every one of us is going to give a report of our financial
               stewardship to God.


               That account lies ahead for every one of us.

               Offerings, First Fruits and Alms

               These are other forms of giving that attract the divine blessings

               Tithing lays a foundation for our systematic, continual giving to
               God. The tithe is God’s legal portion as specified in the scriptures.


               We must understand that tithing is not the end of giving to God, it
