“Giving”: God’s Absolute Blue Print To Prosperity
young bull, one ram and one male lamb a year old for a burnt
offering; 16 one male goat for a sin offering[d]; 17 and two oxen,
five rams, five male goats and five male lambs a year old to be
sacrificed as a fellowship offering. This was the offering of Nahshon
son of Amminadab.
God kept an absolute record of what each leader offered and then
caused it to be preserved in Scripture in minute detail.
That shows the degree of importance God places on our offerings.
The new Testament teaches us that Jesus Himself watches how we
give.
We read in Mark 12:41-44 [nIV],
Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put
and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple
treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor
widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only
a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said,” I
tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury
than all the others. They all gave out if their wealth; but she, out
of her poverty, put in everything, all she had to live on.”
Jesus thought it worthwhile to sit and watch what and how the
people gave. He does the same today. Since He is Omni-Present,
and is All-Knowing, he knows every details of our lives – including
what we give.
