Redemptive Plan Of God In Tithing

be God’s house (a sacred place to me), and of all (the increase of
possessions) that You will give me I will give the tenth to you”
                  Genesis 28:22 [AMPC]

Paying of tithes then becomes very essential; a doctrine that is well
appreciated in kingdom worship. Part of King Hezekiah’s reforms
was to make the children of Israel understand that the paying of
tithes was still an integral and important aspect of worship unto the
Lord. He is very clear on the subject of tithing in the scriptures and
the Israelites observe this to the letter. The scripture in the book of
second Chronicles narrates King Hezekiah’s position on the matter
of tithes in the following manner:-

“He commanded the people living in Jerusalem to give a portion

due to the priest and the Levites, that they might (be free to) give
themselves to the Law of the Lord…as soon as the command went
abroad, the Israelites gave in abundance the first fruits of grain,
vintage fruit, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field; and
they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything…the people
of Israel and Judah who lived in Judah’s cities also brought the
tithe of cattle and sheep and of the dedicated things which were
                                                                           nd
consecrated to the Lord their God, and they laid them in heaps” 2
                  Chronicles 31:4-6 [AMPC]

Doctrinally, there are key underlying factors that one has to
understand regarding tithing. The bible makes mention of tithing in
a rather mandatory term; such that the willful disobedience equates
to robbery. God’s sovereignty is never subject to question, neither
is anyone among men able to ridicule His precepts; let alone steal
               from Him.
