Since the Day of Atonement was also on the 10 day of the 7
month.
“It shall be a statute to you forever that in the seventh month that

is the 7 month [which is nearly October] on the tenth day of the
month you shall afflict yourselves [by fasting with penitence and
humiliation] and do not work at all, either the native –born or
the stranger who dwells temporarily among you” Leviticus 16:29
(AMPC).
This was the day when the high priest would make the atoning
sacrifice of the people to bring reconciliation between man and God;
blood of the goat that was slaughtered was sprinkled seven times on
the mercy seat, and the other goat (scapegoat), was released to the
wilderness. This later typified what Christ did, He being the perfect
atonement for our sins, has since reconciled us to God the Father.
We find that the father–in-law of Jacob changed his wages 10
times
“But your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times,
but God did not allow him to hurt me” Genesis 31:7 (AMPC)
The ten (10) plagues that were sent to Egypt signified God’s
complete judgment to the land. This was also symbolic of the false
gods worshiped (numerically) by the Egyptians to prove that God
is the only true God.
