Tao Tao (active 1825-1900), courtesy name Yisun, born in Suzhou,
Jiangsu province. He was the great uncle of Tao Lengyue (1895-1985).
One of the notable characteristics in this album is the application of
the diagonal composition. The moving water and floating clouds often
functioned as a diagonal axis, opening up the hills and allowing the air
to flow through the natural beings. In addition, the artist cleverly used
the river and open water area as void space, projecting a contrast with
the rocks in terms of volume and weight.
