Mid Qing Dynasty
Of rectangular form fitted with a pair of bail handles
at both ends and mounted with metal fittings at the
edges, the cover hinged to the lower section, the
front with a ruyi lock plate, painted overall in lustrous
dark-brown lacquer and inlaid with hardstone and
mother-of-pearl to the exterior depicting magpies
and butterflies amidst rocks and plants.
