Decorated in colour and gilt with a gathering of gentlemen at a 17th/18th century
riverside retreat, variously conversing and engaged in leisurely One side attractively inlaid with shaped plaques of mother-of-pearl,
pursuits, a group of boys in sampans to one side, all in a mountainous variegated shell, red lacquer and hardstones with three boys playing
pine-strewn river landscape, the reverse decorated with a group of with a long kite and waving a flag, the reverse with a long curling leafy
weiqi players, in a similar landscape setting, later wood stand. blossoming camellia and peony branch, all on lustrous dark brown
The panel 59cm (23.1/4in) high x 53cm (20.7/8in) wide. (2). lacquer grounds and mounted as a four-legged rectangular table
screen.
