A LARGE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL AND GILT-
BRONZE PEAR-SHAPED VASE, HU
Late Ming Dynasty
Boldly and brightly enamelled on a rich turquoise
ground with a wide band of large lotus blooms
borne on scrolling foliage issuing curling leaves in a
continuous meander around the compressed central
section, the tapering neck, lower part of the body
and high spreading foot with three narrower lotus-
meander bands, all divided by three narrow dark-
blue-ground floral-meander bands.
