MULE’ INCENSE BURNER AND COVER

The vessel cast as a caparisoned mule with long
pointed ears and a tail, standing with its head
lowered, his back pierced to accommodate a
detachable cover cast as a bearded scholar in a
gown, holding a scroll in his hands, the vessel with
partial red and blue pigments remaining.

THREE SOAPSTONE FIGURES OF IMMORTALS
18th century
Each standing figure finely carved dressed in layered
robes incised with ruyi-head cloud motifs, holding
their respective attributes, comprising Fu, the God of
Happiness holding a ruyi sceptre, 18.5cm (7 1/4in)
high; Shoulao, the God of Longevity holding a peach,
18cm (7 1/16in) high; and Lan Caihe holding a basket
of fruits and flowers, 16.5cm (6 1/2in) high.(3).
