A WHITE AND GREY JADE ‘DOUBLE
MANDARIN DUCK’ GROUP
18th century
The two confronted birds depicted recumbent on a
lotus leaf with archaistic scrolls on their wings and
a long crest feather curled at the tip, one duck with
a stem of blossoming lotus trailing from its beak,
the stone of chalky white colour with grey markings,
wood stand, 8.5cm (3 1/8in) long; together with
a pale green and russet jade model of a duck,
Ming dynasty, finely modelled with its head turned
towards his back, grasping a peach branch in its
beak, the wings folded and finely detailed with
incised feathers, 5cm (2in) long. (3).

18th century
The long-tailed bird perched atop rockwork issuing
lingzhi sprays, the wings neatly folded over the
back and the crested head clasping a leafy peony
spray in its beak, the stone of white tone with minor
scattered cloudy and dark brown inclusions.
