           Each armchair with a reticulated backsplat carved with designs of
           ruyi and interlocking chilong, the headrest openwork spandrels and
           S-shaped armrests all decorated with scrolling patterns, the aprons
           carved with stylised archaistic scrolls continuing to the straight legs
           connected by rectangular stretchers.

           A JICHIMU SQUARE-CORNER DISPLAY CABINET, DUOBAOGE
           19th/early 20th century
           Well carved with reticulated lattice interlocking designs framing open
           shelves above a pair of small reticulated doors and a drawer, the lower
           portion set with two larger doors above a plain apron and spandrels.
           194.5cm (76 1/2in) high x 80cm (31 1/2in) wide x 41cm (16 1/8in) deep.

           十九世紀/二十世紀早期 鸂鶒木多寶格

           Duobaoge 多寶格 (literally meaning ‘multiple treasure cabinets’)
           apparently were first constructed during the early Qing dynasty. The
           upper section was used to display antiques, while the lower section
           was used to store books and scrolls. Compare with a related jichimu
           cabinet, late Qing dynasty, illustrated by Tian Jiaqing, Classic Chinese
           Furniture of the Qing Dynasty, Hong Kong, 1995, p.235, no.106. See
           a related jichimu display cabinet, 19th century, which was sold at   389
           Christie’s New York, 20-21 March 2014, lot 2299.
