A THREE-COLOR OVERLAY TRANSPARENT GLASS
SNUFF BOTTLE
1780-1850
Of flattened oval form rising to a tubular neck with flat lip,
each side carved with a fat goldfish grasping a strand of
green waterweed in its mouth, the goldfish carved from the
blue overlay on one side and red on the other, the green
overlay also used to form the oval foot ring.

1780-1850
The first of flattened ovoid shape, the transparent bubble
infused body overlaid with four colors, carved to form fruiting
peach boughs, a bat and the oval foot ring; the second of
bubble infused transparent turquoise glass, made in flattened
pear shape with carved lion mask and mock ring handles on
the shoulders, all supported on an oval foot.

1750-1800
The first of ovoid shape, supported on a concave foot,
made from aubergine glass, one side carved in high-relief
with a figure of Shoulao and a bat, reversed by a low-relief
carving of a blooming chrysanthemum; the second of
teardrop shape, supported on an oval foot ring, made from
aventurine-splashed transparent blue glass, the short sides
carved with lion mask and mock ring handles.
