TWO BLACK ENAMEL GROUND PORCELAIN
SNUFF BOTTLES
1850-1900
Both with short tubular necks and oval foot
rings; the first of flattened ovoid shape, the body
penciled with a continuous scene of Meng Haoran
walking behind his attendant cradling a branch
with perfect plum blossoms, accented with iron-
red wash, an iron-red and black enamel dragon
marking the foot; the second of compressed
rounded square form, one face with an official and
attendant, the other with an ox-herd on his ox.

TWO MOLDED PORCELAIN ‘LION’ SNUFF
BOTTLES
1800-1850
Each similarly molded in the form of a recumbent
lion, holding a brocade ball with its fore paws and
jaws, the ball forming the neck of the bottle; one
covered with clear glaze, the other with sancai
glaze, the eyes of both accented with black
enamel.
