AN AGATE ‘BANNERMAN’ SNUFF BOTTLE

Of flattened, rounded square shape, the interior well-
hollowed, the caramel inclusion on one side carved in relief
as a Manchu bannerman seated astride a galloping horse
with a banner slung over his shoulder.

AN AGATE ‘CHILONG’ SNUFF BOTTLE
1750-1860
Of well-hollowed flattened ovoid form, surmounted by a
cylindrical neck and supported on an oval foot ring, the
brown inclusion on one face skillfully carved to form a low
relief image of a chilong crawling through the aperture of a
bi disc and a flaming pearl, the other face dominated by a
natural scythe-form brown inclusion.

AN AGATE ‘HORSE AND BAT’ SNUFF BOTTLE

Of well-hollowed flattened rounded square form, the
lip slightly concave, one face carved in high relief with
a caparisoned horse tethered to a post beneath a
descending bat, the attractive caramel inclusions used to
highlight the design, all supported on an oval foot ring.
