AN ARCHAISTIC BRONZE VASE, ZUN
YUAN / EARLY MING DYNASTY
finely cast with deep rounded sides rising from a splayed foot to a waisted neck and flared
mouthrim, the neck collared with a band enclosing archaistic floral motifs interrupted by
four vertical raised ridges, all between two thin raised double-ribs, the foot similarly
decorated with a band of archaistic floral and foliate scrolls and interrupted by four vertical
raised ridges, the surface patinated to a warm chocolate-brown colour and the countersunk
cross-hatched base with green encrustation
