283 A small boxwood netsuke of an elephant.
19th century
A karako playing a flute seated on the back of
an elephant with legs wide apart, and a very
long trunk. Chip.

284 A fine ivory netsuke of a suisei. 19th century
Seated on an oval base, the head with a single
horn turned, a tortoise’s carapace on the back,
the fur finely engraved and its eyes of brown
horn.
