Early 19th century
The shishi is about to step out from an eggshell,
the mouth wide open with a loose ball inside, of
triangular cross-section. The eye pupils of black horn.

First half 19th century
The shishi looks out from a spherical eggshell, the
mouth closed with only the upper row of teeth
visible. The eye pupils of black horn, the dots on
the eggshell in ukibori. Inscribed Raku. Chip.

Of triangular shape, the mother sitting on its tail,
with a flowering peony branch in its mouth and
placing its paw over the young’s back. Restored.
