296 A stained ivory netsuke of a rakan with a
shishi, by Kikuchika.
Second half 19th century
With a large leaf held in the manner of a fan,
seated on a shishi, which is holding on to a
ribboned ball, while a boy sitting in front of
them tries to pull the ribbon out of the shishi’s
mouth. Signed Kikuchika.

297 An unusual ivory netsuke of Fûten.
Late 18th century
Kneeling, with hair raised and a wide
grin on his face, shouldering the windbag.
The eye pupils formely inlaid. Restored.
