A HUANGHUALI STATIONERY BOX
QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
The rectangular flat hinged top fitted with ruyi-form corner
mounts and opens to a shallow tray, the two front panel doors
fitted flush and opening to reveal the interior with five drawers,
a cloud-shaped hasp, circular lockplate and shaped pulls, all in
huangtong mounts. The whole raised on a plain base platform fitted
with shaped mounts.
