A PAIR OF GILT-SPLASHED ARCHAISTIC WINE                               A gold-splashed archaistic bronze jue with the same identical
                                                                      inscription is known and is illustrated in Arts from the Scholar’s Studio,
VESSELS, JIA                                                          1986, p. 184-185, no. 161.

QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY                                       清十七/十八世紀  銅灑金仿古斝一對  
                                                                                                             「伯申作寶彜」鑄款
Each vessel is raised on three blade supports and the body crisply
cast with two taotie masks on a leiwen ground divided by flanges set  展覽
directly below each of the capped posts rising from the rim. The      Spink & Son Ltd.,《The Minor Arts of China III》,
neck is further embellished with detached, ascending blades each      倫敦,1987,圖77號
enclosing a trigram, and attached with a curved handle emerging
from the mouth of a monster mask to one side. The underside
is inscribed with a five-character inscription, reading Boshen zuo
baoyi, ‘This precious vessel made by Boshen’.
