Both the box and cover are carved through thick layers of 紀，於2008年5月-7月展覽於《和光剔彩：故宮藏漆》，圖錄
cinnabar lacquer with fruiting branches bearing lychee, against a 圖版48、49號。
floral diaper ground. The interiors are lacquered black.

Two very similar cinnabar lacquer boxes, also carved with lychee
fruits, dating to the 16th century, are in the National Palace Museum
Collection, Taipei, exhibited in Carving the Subtle Radiance of Colors:
Treasured Lacquerware in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, May-
July 2008, nos. 48 and 49.
