                                                                          20th century
                                                                          Carved as three recumbent rams, each rendered
                                                                          naturalistically with hooves tucked neatly beneath
                                                                          their bodies, their heads to the center and each
                                                                          issuing a celestial yin yang symbol with swirling
                                                                          clouds, the stone a grey-green hue with russet and
                                                                          icy inclusions.

                                                                          A MING-STYLE CELADON AND RUSSET JADE
                                                                          RHYTON CUP
                                                                          19th century
                                                                          Designed as an animal horn with a bifurcated handle
                                                                          that forms the tail fins of the dragon-fish carved
                                                                          in relief with scale patterns and a long mane, its
                                                                          open mouth encircling the upper section of the cup
                                                                          incised with stylized scroll patterns, the mottled
                                                                          greyish-green matrix with dark speckled inclusions
                                                                          and russet staining.
