A famille verte fishbowl
19th century
Boldly enamelled with a continuous scene of the bearded ruler wearing
a yellow robe with green cloud medallions seated watching two boys
dancing, one with a ruyi sceptre and one with a branch of coral, all
surrounded by dignitaries, soldiers and attendants in front of a large
altar table laid with a vase containing scrolls and brushes, a wrapped box
and a tri-horned carving, all set within a garden terrace with scholars
conversing, all beneath a band of ruyi-head beneath a geometric ground
containing four cartouches Buddhist symbols, wood stand.
