The calligraphy inscription on the present lot was composed as a tribute
to the famous Ode to the Red Cliff by the poet Su Shi (1037-1101), also
known as Su Dong Po. The poem is supposedly set at the site of the Battle
of the Red Cliff which took place between General Cao Cao and Liu Bei in
              AD.208.
