116 | Bonhams Each handsome vase finely decorated with a continuous landscape in
muted iron-red, grisaille and ochre tones, with intricate details in pink,
blue, green and yellow enamels, one vase with a mounted nobleman
pointing towards a pavilion on a high cliff, accompanied by another
horseman and three followers on foot, the background with a tiered
pagoda atop a high cliff beside a river,, the other with three gentlemen
relaxing on a rocky outcrop besides two boys flying three butterfly and
dragonfly kites high above a river scene with boats behind a farmer and
ox ploughing a paddy field next to a lady and boy on a porch looking at
a traveller hitching his blue horse, each domed cover with a gilt floral,
grape and bamboo border enclosing huts beside a river with boats,
surmounted by a gilt Buddhist lion finial.

A famille rose baluster vase
18th century
Delicately enamelled on the body with a lady seated at a table engaged
in needlework whilst a maid rolls out a scroll and a boy reaches into an
open cabinet for a bowl filled with a peach and pomegranate, the neck
similarly decorated with a lady on a kang holding a pomegranate and
conversing with two small boys beside a collection of precious objects.
