A pair of large ormolu-mounted Canton famille rose vases

Each slender vase elaborately enamelled with a scene of a dignitary at a
table surrounded by female attendants with fans and dishes as a seated
dignitary looks on from a balcony across a courtyard, all above a cartouche
containing further figural scenes, the reverse with a lady seated in a
courtyard with long feathers in her cap and many female attendants around
her as her husband with matching long feathers observes from a covered
balcony, also above a cartouche with figural scenes, each vase with four
applied pink and blue dragons biting the bottom of the separately-moulded
neck with four applied pink and blue dragons painted with figural scenes on
each side of the gilt handles each formed as a larger and a smaller Buddhist
lion playing with an iron-red ball beneath the flaring lobed rim with flowers
and birds, fixed ormolu stands. Each vase 64cm (25¼in) high (2).
