                                                          Qianlong seven-character mark and of the period
                                                          Enamelled with four blossoms, each coloured with
                                                          two-toned petals alternating red and yellow with red
                                                          and white amidst foliate scrolls and between bands
                                                          of pendent lappets at the neck and foot, the high
                                                          foot with a row of floral scrolls above ruyi-head, and
                                                          the neck also with two rows of floral scrolls beneath
                                                          ruyi heads at the rim. 13.5cm (5¼in) high

                                                          The present vase exemplifies the height of the
                                                          Imperial cloisonné enamel craftsmanship during
                                                          the Qianlong period made for the Imperial court.
                                                          The use of bold contrasting yellow, blue and red
                                                          colours, which recalls cloisonné enamel of the early
                                                          Ming Dynasty period, as well as the very slightly
                                                          raised wire-borders and the relief gilt-bronze band
                                                          of lotus-petal panels can be seen on an incense
                                                          burner, Qianlong, illustrated by Zheng Xinmiao, ed.,
                                                          Compendium of Collections in the Palace Museum:
                                                          Enamels 3 - Cloisonné in the Qing Dynasty (1644-
                                                          1911), Beijing, 2011 pl.4.

                                                          The boat-shaped dish enamelled on the interior
                                                          with a central fully-blossoming flower surrounded
                                                          by archaistic scrolls, flanked on two sides by bats
                                                          suspending musical stones amidst floral and foliate
                                                          scrolls, the sides similarly decorated on the exterior,
                                                          all raised on two low feet. 15cm (5 7/8in) long

                                                          A rare cloisonné enamel tripod cylindrical
                                                          incense burner
                                                          Qianlong five-character mark and of the period
                                                          Enamelled with a meander issuing three fully-
                                                          blossoming red and yellow lotus flowers alternating
                                                          with pink buds amid foliate scrolls, all between
                                                          narrow bands of ruyi heads at the rim and base,
                                                          the underside with the five-character mark within
                                                          a square surrounded by three red flowers amid
                                                          scrollwork, all raised on three feet shaped as ruyi
                                                          heads, box. 9.5cm (3¾in) high (2).
