A LARGE IMPERIAL-MUSTARD-YELLOW-GROUND SILK
EMBROIDERY
Qing Dynasty
The center finely decorated with five equally-spaced pots of
auspicious fruits on elaborate stands enclosed in a network of
butterflies in flight and scattered blossoms on a yellow field of
blossoming lotus, peonies, and fronted blossoms with radiating
tendrils, set off by a a border band of romping chilong centered on
fronted lotus under a further field of flowers, rendered in multicolored
threads on a yellow silk brocade finely woven with cloud scrolls.

For a large yellow-ground silk embroidery of almost identical
width (392 cm) and with extremely comparable scrolling tendrils
that support flowerheads and encircle the central design, see the
