Of compressed globular form, with a rounded
lip and unglazed oval foot rim, the body
decorated in overglaze polychrome enamels
with figures in a landscape, with the four-
character mark to the foot in iron-red.

A PORCELAIN ‘ZHONGKUI’ SNUFF
BOTTLE
Jingdezhen kilns, 1800-1850
Of compressed tianqiuping form, with molded
fixed ring mask handles high on the shoulders
at the base of the long neck, one side of the
bottle with an iron red Zhong Kui bearing a
sword, reversed by Zhong Kui dressed as
a scholar, the foot marked with an iron-red
demon.
