Imperial, Guangzhou, Qianlong four-character
mark and of the period, 1750-1795
The rounded body narrowing towards a
short neck, with a wide mouth, exposed gilt
copper lip and foot rims, the main sides with
two shaped reserves on a foliate scrolls-filled
ground, each presenting an idyllic landscape,
one showing a European lady in a long flowing
skirt seated next to rocks in the shade of a
large tree, the opposing panel depicting two
dogs on a grassland next to a pine tree, the
raised, white enameled foot with the four-
character mark in blue regular script; gilt-metal
stopper en suite.

Jingdezhen kilns, 1790-1830
Molded as a fussy squirrel in prone position
holding a bunch of grapes and lotus leaves
between its paws and tail, its eyes picked out
in black, its body stippled for effect.
