A Tibetan gilt copper alloy figure of Buddha Shakyamuni. He is
seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus throne, right hand in the
bhumisparsha mudra, he wears a monk's robe with silvery beaded
border and swallowtail pleats, the face is serene with downcast
eyes and urna. The figure is harmoniously executed and with
fine details of finger joints and nails. Sealed base plate elabo-
rately engraved, not with the usual visvavajra, but with a lotus
flower surrounded by the eight Buddhist emblems. 15th century.
