The compressed globular body and straight
neck are decorated with an allover design
of iron-red bats in flight amidst clouds
between a band of petal lappets below and
a ruyi border at the mouth rim.

A FAMILLE ROSE SGRAFFIATO CONJOINED VASE
REPUBLIC PERIOD, EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The vase is painted with composite floral blooms borne on foliage
against pink and yellow sgraffiato grounds. The base is enamelled
turquoise, reserving an iron-red apocryphal Qianlong seal mark in
the centre.
