the compressed globular body supported on a
straight foot and rising to a cylindrical neck with
a lipped rim, cast with two shaped cartouches
at the body enclosing arabic inscriptions in
relief against a ring-punched ground, Japanese
wood box (3)

17TH / 18TH CENTURY
of oval section, the low upright sides set over
four short cabriole legs, rising to a recessed
673 neck and everted rim, the body set to either
side with a pair of lion-mask handles, the base
cast with an apocryphal six-character Xuande
mark within a recessed rectangle, the patina a
warm brown color
