A pale green jade ‘dragon’ belt
plaque
Ming Dynasty
The typically reticulated belt plaque delicately
carved with a front-facing four-clawed dragon
flanked by two interlinked diamond motifs within a
lobed cartouche, surrounded by further Buddhist
Emblems including the double fish, the lotus
and the endless knot, as well as a bird and the
Buddhist wan symbol.

A group of three jade plaques
Comprising a white and russet jade carving of two
bats with wings touching and one with a lingzhi
spray in its mouth, Ming Dynasty; a white jade
reticulated ‘dragon’ plaque shaped as a bodhi leaf,
Ming Dynasty; and a spinach-green jade reticulated
plaque carved with a phoenix in flight enclosed by
a border of eight ruyi heads, 18th/19th century.
The largest 6.4cm (2½in) wide (3).

A yellow and russet jade ‘bats and
cloud scroll’ carving
Ming Dynasty
The yellow jade with darker brown patches carved
with five bats emerging from dense cloud scrolls,
one on each of the four sides and the fifth bat on
the top, fixed wood stand.
