A pale green jade Daoist ‘moon’ disc
18th/19th century
The attractive pale green stone smoothly shaped
and carved in low relief with a hare pounding
the elixir of immortality beside a leafy pine tree,
enclosed by crashing waves and scrolling clouds,
the reverse carved with a single cockerel.

A pale green jade figure of a sage
18th/19th century
The shallow stone simply carved as an elderly
scholar wearing a peaked cap above his wrinkled
forehead and long flowing beard, the body draped
in voluminous robes with hands just visible leaning
on a long knotted wooded staff, fixed glass mount
and wood stand.
