A rare ivory brushpot, bitong
16th/17th century
The tusk patinated to shades of light honey colour and carved in
low relief with a continuous depiction of branches of flowering leafy
prunus, with one bird perching amongst the branches and another
bird in flight, with delicate stalks of bamboo incised within the design.
