A large blanc-de-chine figure of Guanyin
18th/19th century, two Xu Yunlin zhi four-character marks
The impressive Goddess of Mercy modelled with downcast eyes
beneath hair bound in a high topknot fastened with a long pin and
set with a tiara containing the Amitabha Buddha flanked by roses,
the arms folded gently in front of the body and covered by flowing
robes revealing strands of Buddhist jewellery and one bare foot
standing on a scaly fish coiling through foaming waves.
