The bottle is decorated to one side with a continuous scene depicting a

landscape. The bottle is signed with the artist’s name and one seal. The stone

The bottle is painted with a continuous scene depicting pavilions amongst        號(其中之一)
willows and wutong trees in a mountainous river landscape. It is inscribed with
the date, artist’s name and a seal.

2Ω in. (6.3 cm.) high  $6,100-9,100                                              Ma Shaoxian, the nephew of the renowned inside-painted snuf bottle artist
£4,000-6,000           €5,500-8,100                                              Ma Shaoxuan, likely worked with his uncle in the family workshop producing
                                                                                 bottles to be sold with his uncle’s signature. From around 1899 to 1932,
                                                                                 Shaoxian only sporadically signed his own name. Upon the retirement of his
                                                                                 uncle, Shaoxian used his own signature.
