‘CHILONG’ VASE
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The ovoid body is supported on a tiered
splayed foot decorated with wave pattern,
and the tall neck decorated with angular
scrolls and geometric motifs is applied
with a sinuous chilong with bifurcated tail
clambering towards the faring mouth.

A LARGE BRONZE ARCHAISTIC
HU-SHAPED VASE
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The vase is cast with a pear-shaped
body rising from a tall molded foot to
a slight fared neck fanked by a pair of
handles issuing from bovine heads, and is
decorated with three bands of wave patterns
incorporating stylized taotie masks, all
reserved on a leiwen ground below a narrow
band of leiwen pattern.
