                                  AN ARCHAISTIC GOLD AND SILVER-INLAID BRONZE WINE VESSEL, GONG

                                     MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)

                             The faceted sides of the vessel are cast with taotie masks inlaid in gold and silver and divided
                             and separated by notched fanges below further taotie masks below the rim, with an animal-
                             form C-shaped handle. The cover is cast in the form of adorsed recumbent animals, their
                             features inlaid with silver and gold.
