No. 218.
Painted in red upon a Medicine Box of porcelain.
Kin-jio, To-ka sei, Sai-un-ro. Made by Saiimro at the
pottery of Kinjio, which is the scholastic name of Kanasawa,
a town in Kaga. The lower mark is the seal of Kiokiizan,
the maker’s second name.

Painted in red upon modern ware. Kutant, Setsu-
2AN-D0. Setsuzando being the name of the maker.
No. 220.
Scratched upon common pottery, called Ohi ware, made
near Kanasawa about 1820 a.d. Sen-ki, meaning A poor
thing, an affectation of humility.
