When the maker desires to emphasize the beauty of his
ware, he uses the characters Sel sei, to signify that it has
been made with care.
Owari. Kioto. Oivari.
SEI SEI.
Made with care.
Occasionally inscriptions appear signifying that the
object was made at the request of some purchaser, or
the words “ respectfully made ” are placed upon it by the
manufacturer

MOTOME NI OZITE. KINSAKU.
For dema7id. Respectfully made.
The words Motome ni ozite are only applied to articles made
for distinguished personages or for personal friends of the
manufacturer.
