The characters to the left are Sei-zo, and those to the
right are Shippo kuwai-sha, meaning that the Shippo Company
made the ware from which the inscription was copied.
The word sei is frequently used with the character kore,
meaning this^ when the mark is read Kore 0 seisu. Various
examples are given below.

It is only in rare instances that the word tsiikiiru is
used in this manner. The following inscription is taken
from an old example of Kioto faience. The two upper
characters are tsukitru and the lower ones are kore :
